Eurozone Retail Sales Decline For Second Month

Retail sales in Eurozone declined for a second consecutive month in March, the latest figures from Eurostat showed Monday.

Sales fell 0.1 percent month-on-month in March as expected following a 0.2 percent decrease in February and a 0.9 percent growth in January.

Sales of food, drinks and tobacco rose 0.8 percent from the previous month, while retail trade of non food products decreased 0.5 percent.

Annually, retail sales dropped 2.4 percent, faster than 2.1 percent fall expected. In February, sales were down 1.7 percent.
