German aviation group Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DLAKY.PK, DLAKF.PK) announced Monday that following 'repeated wish' by the Supervisory Board, Wolfgang Mayrhuber, the company' former Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer has agreed to uphold his candidacy in the Supervisory Board elections.
Mayrhuber, had earlier withdrawn his candidacy due to criticism from shareholders regarding his nomination. Mayrhuber was due to be elected as a member of the Supervisory Board and subsequently appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the Annual General Meeting on 7 May 2013.
The company in a statement added that the initial differences were caused by voting recommendations that are unsuited to Germany's two-tier corporate governance system.
