BMC Software Inc. (BMC) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $72.7 million or $0.50 per share, compared to $70.7 million or $0.43 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $127.2 million or $0.87 per share, compared to $122.5 million or $0.74 per share in the prior year quarter.
Total revenue for the fourth quarter rose 0.7% to $568.8 million from $564.7 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.93 per share on revenue of $591.88 million for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
