Oilfield services provider Baker Hughes Inc.'s (BHI) international rig count for April 2013 grew to 1,301, from the 1,178 counted last year, with the international offshore rig count totaling 331, up 32 from the 299 counted in April 2012. During the month of April, the worldwide rig count, however, slipped to 3,209, from the 3,297 counted in the previous year.
The average U.S. rig count for April 2013 was 1,755, down 206 from the 1,961 counted a year ago. Monthly average Canadian rig count was 153, down 5 from the 158 counted in the year-ago month.
