Struggling internet company Yahoo! Inc. The report, quoting a person familiar the situation, said Chief Executive Marissa Mayer has been seeking to end the deal with the software giant, after assuming office last year. However, Yahoo's efforts to end the contract has so far failed.

Meanwhile, Google has reportedly evinced interest in the past year to form a more lucrative partnership to provide web-search and search-advertising technology to Yahoo.
