Susser Holdings Corp. (SUSS) reported that its first-quarter net loss attributable to company narrowed to $232 thousand or $0.01 per share, from a loss of $528 thousand or $0.03 per share last year.
Consolidated revenues totaled $1.5 billion, an increase of 5.1 percent year-over-year. The increase was the result of a 9.5 percent increase in merchandise sales, a 6.3 percent increase in retail fuel revenues and a 0.8 percent increase in wholesale fuel revenues sold to third parties. Same-store merchandise sales increased 4.2 percent in the first quarter.
On average, niie analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.05 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Analysts expected revenue of $1.47 billion for the quarter.
