York Water Co. (YORW) Wednesday reported that its first-quarter net income was $2.13 million or $0.17 per basic share, compared to $1.94 million or $0.15 per basic share in the same quarter prior year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.16 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Meanwhile, operating revenues for the quarter rose to $10.06 million from $9.66 million in the prior year quarter, while five analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $10.07 million for the current quarter.
