Rackspace Hosting Inc. (RAX), an open cloud company, Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $27 million or $0.19 per share, compared with $23 million or $0.17 per share last year.
Revenues for the quarter were up 20% at $362 million, compared with $301 million in the prior year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.20 per share on revenues of $367.20 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Shares of the company lost 4.22% in after-hours trade at $48.07 on the NYSE.
