Lithuania's annual inflation weakened for the fourth successive month in April, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Thursday.
The consumer price index rose 1.2 percent year-on-year in April, slower than the 1.5 percent gain seen in March. The rate of growth has weakened for the fourth month in a row.
The annual growth in prices reflected a 1.2 percent gain in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices, and a 2.3 percent rise in prices of clothing and footwear. Contributing to the overall price growth, housing costs and utility prices moved up 1.5 percent from a year earlier. Meanwhile, there was a 0.9 percent year-on-year decrease in transportation costs.
The consumer price index moved up a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent compared to March, when they recorded a similar growth, the agency said.
