Bulgaria's industrial production decreased for the first time in five months in March, preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute showed Thursday.
Industrial production fell 3.6 percent on an annual basis in March, reversing the 2.7 percent increase seen in February. The decline was the first in the past five months.
Production in the mining and quarrying sector plunged 22.7 percent annually in March, and manufacturing output decreased by 3.5 percent. There was a 4.9 percent annual fall in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.
Industrial production dropped 2.3 percent compared to February, when they fell by 4.6 percent, the agency said.
