BBA Aviation PLC (BBA.L), a provider of aviation support and aftermarket services, Friday said in its Interim Management Statement for the period from January 1 to May 9, that the Group's four-month revenue increased by 3 percent. On an organic basis, excluding the impact of exchange rates, fuel prices, acquisitions and disposals, the firm recorded a 2 percent increase in revenues.
Revenue in Flight Support grew by 2 percent on an organic basis. Business and general aviation movements in North America were broadly flat in the first quarter compared with the prior year and in Europe there was a 4 percent reduction in activity, the firm said in a statement. The firm stated that the commercial airlines continue to manage capacity actively and commercial movements in the US declined by 3 percent, but after last year's exceptionally warm winter, Flight Support benefited from more normal levels of de-icing activity. Aftermarket Services revenues grew by 1 percent on an organic basis.
