Romania's consumer price inflation stayed broadly unchanged in April, and was in line with economists' forecast, latest data showed Friday.
The consumer price index increased 5.29 percent on an annual basis in April, after rising 5.25 percent in March. Economists were looking for a figure of 5.3 percent.
Food prices advanced 5.6 percent from a year earlier, and prices in the non-food sector moved up 5.8 percent. Service costs were higher by 3.48 percent than in March.
Consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent compared to March, when they rose by 0.04 percent. Economists had forecast a 0.2 percent rise.
Separately, the agency said Romania's visible trade deficit decreased to EUR567.6 million in March from EUR750 million a year earlier. Exports decreased 1.4 percent annually during the month, and imports fell by 5 percent.
Month-on-month, shipments and imports increased 3.4 percent and 12.1 percent respectively in March, data showed.
