Carl Icahn, who disclosed holding 4.52 percent stake in the company, along with Southeastern Asset Management, Inc. has sent a letter saying that Dell's going private transaction is not in the best interests of shareholders and substantially undervalues the company. Icahn and Southeastern Asset Management own an aggregate 13 percent stake and plan to vote against the going private transaction.
Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (PGNX) is rising 45 percent to $6.25. The company's first quarter net loss narrowed from the prior year period, due primarily to decline in total expenses.
Curis, Inc. (CRIS) is gaining 9 percent to $4.21 based on the news that Erivedge was approved for marketing registration in Australia.
Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (UBNT) is surging 20 percent to $19.30 following the release of its quarterly results.
Decliners:
Pain Therapeutics Inc. (PTIE) is plunging 47 percent to $2.80 after receiving a correspondence from Pfizer, Inc. (PFE) regarding Remoxy. Pfizer also disclosed a longer than anticipated delay in responding to the June 2011 Complete Response Letter and noted that it will reach to Pain Therapeutics shortly to review high-level program timelines and to have discussion relating to contractual terms of their current agreement.
