Germany's EU harmonized inflation weakened in April, and matched preliminary estimates, data released by the Federal Statistical Office showed Tuesday.
Inflation as per the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), measured under the EU methodology, eased to 1.1 percent in April from 1.8 percent in March. The latest figure matched the flash estimates.
The HICP decreased 0.5 percent compared to March, when they recorded a 0.4 percent increase. The monthly growth also matched estimates.
At the same time, the consumer price index increased 1.2 percent on an annual basis in April, in line with the initial estimates. In March, prices had gained 1.4 percent.
Sequentially, the consumer price index dropped 0.5 percent in April, as estimated earlier, following the previous month's 0.5 percent increase.
