Sweden's unemployment rate stayed unchanged from last year in April, but was slightly below economists' expectations, latest data showed Wednesday.
The unemployment rate came in at 4.3 percent in April, unchanged from the figure recorded a year earlier, Employment Services said. Economists were looking for a jobless rate of 4.4 percent.
There were 201,232 unemployed persons in the country at the end of April, higher than 198,972 seen in April 2012.
The number of reported job vacancies increased to 67,145 in April from 60,131 a year earlier, data showed.
The relatively high number of new entrants in the labor market means that the number of unemployed is expected to rise slightly in the future, the agency said.
