Bulgaria GDP Expands In Q1

Bulgaria's economy expanded 0.1 percent quarter-on-quarter in seasonally adjusted terms in the first quarter of 2013, following a stagnation in the previous quarter, preliminary estimates from the National Statistical Institute showed Wednesday.

Major contribution to the growth came from investment, which increased 2.4 percent from the fourth quarter. Collective consumption grew 0.9 percent. Exports of goods and services increased 1.8 percent.

The gross domestic product grew 0.4 percent over the first quarter of 2012. This followed a year-on-year growth of 0.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012.
