Mayflower Bancorp Inc. (MFLR) announced after the close Tuesday that it agreed to be acquired by Independent Bank Corp. (INDB) for approximately $37.2 million.
Mayflower Bancorp gapped open sharply higher Wednesday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. Shares finished up by 7.08 at $17.75 on the highest volume of the year. The stock leaped to a new high for the year.
