Eagle Materials Inc. (EXP) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.16 after the bell Tuesday, down from $0.20 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.40.
Eagle Materials spiked to the upside at the open Wednesday, but settled into a range for the majority of the session. Shares finished with a gain of 2.09 at $74.10. The stock rose past resistance and set a new high for the year.
