Suzlon Group Wins New Wind Turbine Orders For 580 MW

Suzlon Energy Ltd. said its Group subsidiary REpower Systems SE had bagged orders for wind turbines aggregating to 580 MW over a three month period, excluding orders announced separately.

These cover various orders secured between February 15 to May 15, 2013 across Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Poland and Sweden.

The product mix includes Suzlon's S82 and S88 turbines and REpower's 3.4M104 and 3.2M114 models, in addition to MM82, MM92 and MM100 types, the company said.

Suzlon Group Chairman Tulsi Tanti said, "These orders highlight the continuing momentum in the wind sector, and for our Group, across markets in spite of macro-economic uncertainties."

REpower Systems CEO Andreas Nauen commented, "These orders underscore our competitive positioning across highly competitive European wind markets. With our focus on technology and customer centricity, we have the right products and services to continue to strengthen our position in these markets."

At the BSE, Suzlon Energy shares are currently trading at Rs.14.15, down 0.91 percent from the previous close.
