L&T Construction Secures Rs.2,542 Cr. Orders

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. said L&T Construction had won new orders valued over Rs.2,542 crore across various business segments in April and May 2013.

The Building & Factories Business has bagged new orders for Rs.1,021 crore for the construction of residential towers, a cement plant and a factory at various locations across India, including additional orders from operating projects.

The Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business had bagged new orders for Rs.866 crore for the Kochi Metro Rail Project. The scope of work involves construction of an elevated viaduct, elevated stations including architectural finishing work of stations and connecting the viaduct and ramp to the depot on Alwaye-Petta line of the project.

Int he Transportation Infrastructure Business, a new for Rs.315 crore was received from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. for the design and construction of 2x25kV electrification, signaling, telecommunication and associated works for a double track railway line between New Karwandiya and Durgauti section of the eastern corridor.

The water & Renewable Energy Business has secured EC orders worth Rs.148 crore from the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan, for a water supply distribution system for 97 villages at Tehcil Ladnu in Rajasthan.

The company obtained additional orders worth Rs.192 crore from one of the operating projects under Power Transmission and Disintegrating Business.

At the BSE, Larsen & Toubro shares are currently trading at Rs.1,597.40, up 1.08 percent from the previous close.
