The Allstate Corp. (ALL) said Thursday it estimates pre-tax catastrophe losses for April of $216 million ($140 million after-tax).
The insurer said that catastrophe losses in April comprised seven events at an estimated cost of $242 million, pre-tax, partly offset by favorable reserve reestimates of prior reported catastrophe losses. Two severe weather events accounted for over 75% of the estimated loss for April events.
