Kohl's Corp. (KSS) reported first quarter EPS of $0.66 Thursday morning, up from $0.63 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.58. Second quarter EPS is expected to be between $1.00 and $1.08, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.05.
Kohl's gapped up sharply Thursday, but moved in a narrow range for the majority of the session. The stock closed up by 2.35 at $52.03, with volume at over a 5-month high. Kohl's leaped to over a 5 1/2 month high.
