Several media reports stated that Elliott Management has taken a "significant" stake in NetApp Inc. (NTAP) and intends to push for changes to the board.
NetApp spiked to the upside late Thursday morning and ended the session higher by 2.23 at $38.46, with volume at over an 11-month high. The stock broke out to a new high for the year.
