ACC Taking Men's Basketball Tournament To Madison Square Garden?

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is reportedly thinking about moving its NCAA men's basketball tournament to Madison Square Garden in New York City. It would mark the first time the tournament would be held outside of a traditional Atlantic Coast venue, according to ESPN.

One source close to ACC officials revealed that the league has already decided on the move and it's just a matter of formalities.

"We'll be playing there," the source told ESPN. "It's just a matter of getting all the legal ramifications worked out."

The ACC tournament was held in Greensboro, North Carolina last year and has been held in that state for all but 11 tournaments since 1954. In those years the tourney moved only as far north as Maryland and Washington, D.C.
