Woman Arrested For Attempting To Give Her Away Baby To Strangers

Police in Phoenix, Arizona have arrested woman after she allegedly try to give her 6-month-old baby away to strangers.

Local television station KPHO reports that Rozenna Luna, 36, was going up to strangers at a gas station and asking them if they wanted a "free child."

An employee at the gas station called police to inform them of what was happening, however, Luna, also called police because she apparently had several misdemeanor warrants and knew that if she were arrested and thrown in jail, she would not have to take care of her child.

Authorities are saying that Luna was intoxicated during the incident and had smoked methamphetamine two days earlier. Luna did not try to contact safe haven locations, government agencies or family members to assist her in the care for her child.

Luna was arrested on one count of child abuse as well as misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.
