White House senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer on Sunday accused Republicans of "fishing expeditions" as GOP members continue to pressure President Barack Obama for a series of scandals that were front and center in the last week.
Pfeiffer said that Republicans are just trying to kick the tires and see if they can come across anything else aside from the Benghazi attack, the IRS targeting of conservative groups and the Justice Department's seizure of phone records from the Associated Press.
"I think we've seen this playbook from Republicans before," Pfeiffer said. "What they want to do when they are lacking a positive agenda is try to drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations. We're not going to let that happen."
Republicans counter that these events are just the latest attempts at intimidation, and they continue to press for answers.
