Original Karateka Now On IOS And Android

Jordan Mechner, well known for creating the Prince of Persia video game franchise, recently has in his kitty one of the happiest news for the avid gamers to watch out for. Mechner, who created the beat'em up video game, Karateka way back in 1984, had originally programmed it for Apple II and was later on, ported to several other gaming consoles as well.

Months after the remake for Karateka was introduced for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U, the maker of the game conjointly wrapped up a new version of the classic game to the iOS and Android users.

The creator says that the app is not a remake, but it is recreated in a way to hold back the nostalgia of the game, "It's not a remake, not a port, but a faithful pixel-perfect emulation of the original Apple II game, with Olivier Goguel's ActiveGS emulator running my 6502 assembly language code, graphics, and my dad's music."

The app has been added some light dandy touches, but to hold it for that generation of gamers, Mechner states that the specialty of the 5.25? floppy disk version has not been blemished.

Bought in as a paid app, Karateka for 99 cents is an awesome deal to play back your gaming remembrances.
