Poland's gross wages grew by more-than-expected 3 percent in April from the previous year, faster than the 1.6 percent increase seen in March, data published by the Central Statistical Office showed Monday.
Economists had forecast only 2.2 percent increase for April.
Meanwhile, gross wages fell by 0.1 percent month-on-month in April. Nonetheless, the rate of decline was smaller than a 0.9 percent drop forecast by economists.
