Two Arrested In Death Over Robbery Of Teenager Over IPad

Authorities in Las Vegas have arrested two men in connection with the theft of an iPad that led to the death of a 15-year-old teenager.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that Marcos Vincente Arenas, 15, a freshman at Bonanza High School was carrying his iPad while walking on the south side of Charleston Boulevard when he was approached by a vehicle, with two men, one of which stepped outside.

The man attempted to take the iPad, and dragged Arenas, who didn't want to let go of the device. When the man got back into the vehicle, Arenas was still holding onto the iPad. The vehicle started to drive away and Arenas was then hit by the moving car.

He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Authorities have arrested Jacob Dismont, 18, and Michael Samuel Solid, 21, in connection with the crimes. They face charges of open murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The two suspects were located within 48 hours of the incident.

"We went from a horrible crime where a kid lost his life to suspects in custody," said Metro spokesman Bill Cassell. "That shows the focus of this police department."
