Fire In North Texas Leads Authorities To Marijuana Grow House

After responding to a house fire in Texas on Sunday, authorities discovered a large-scale marijuana growing operation inside the home.

Local television station KTVT reports that William Joseph McCue, 26, is believed to have started the fire, which later led to him being arrested for the growing operation.

"This rocket scientist goes out there to burn trash — or whatever it was — with all of that wind yesterday. Naturally the fire spreads." Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said. McCue was later arrested for possession of marijuana.

KTVT reports that firefighters found an irrigation system, grow lights, timers and humidifiers, along with and 41 hydroponic plants, cultivated marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

McCue is being held at the Parker County Jail where more charges against him are pending. Authorities are still investigating the situation.
