An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old boy drowned in an Ohio river.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that the unidentified boy was camping with his family in a cabin near the Muskingum River in southeastern Ohio, according to sheriffs.
The sheriff's office received a call of the incident on Saturday evening. Emergency responders took the boy to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced several hours later.
The sheriffs have not yet released the boy's identify. An autopsy will be conducted, ordered by the Muskingum County coroner's office.
May has been a tough month for water-related deaths. On May 9, there was an accident involving two brothers; one was recovered safely, but the other did not survive.
