Medtronic Inc. (MDT) reported first quarter non-GAAP EPS of $1.10 Tuesday morning, up from $0.99 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.03. Full year 2014 EPS is expected to be between $3.80 and $3.85. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $3.84.
Medtronic gapped open sharply higher Tuesday and is now up 3.08 at $52.97. The stock has broken out of a 1-week range and has set a new high for the year.
