Belgium Consumer Confidence Rises For Second Month

Consumer confidence in Belgium improved for the second straight month in May, survey data from the National Bank of Belgium showed on Wednesday.

The consumer confidence indicator climbed to -19 from -20 in April and -24 in March. The latest score is the strongest since -17 in February.

All components showed signs of improvement, albeit modest, in May. The index reflecting economic expectations edged up to -14 from -15. The measure showing the view on unemployment slid to 55 from 56, indicating improvement.

The indicator for the assessment of households' financial situation climbed to -2 from -4. The index measuring households' saving capacity rose to -3 from -4.
