Disney Cruise Line failed to report the molestation of an 11-year-old girl by one of its crew member, subsequently allowing the offender to escape prosecution, according to a report from WKMG in Orlando.
The 33-year-old employee, Milton Braganza of India, was captured in an illicit encounter with the young girl by an elevator surveillance camera; however, the crime was not reported until the following day and the suspect was questioned by Bahamian authorities as the ship was in port there.
According to the police report, Braganza said "I touched her on her right breast with my left hand." Following the confession, the young girl's grandmother said she didn't want charges pressed. The police released Braganza and sent him back to native India.
Local news source WKMG writes that, had Braganza been charged in Florida, he would have faced felony charges of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child under 12. The charge carries a penalty of 25 years to life in prison.
