A tutor at a Boston private school is behind bars for alleged methamphetamine trafficking.
The man allegedly had a package delivered to the Jamaica Plain School where he left shortly after its arrival. He was subsequently pulled over by state troopers who searched the suspicious package.
Local television station WFXT reports that officials discovered two heat sealed bags containing 480 grams of crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The school is cooperating well with the investigation. A spokesman from the school said regarding the incident, "We have no knowledge, nor any reason to believe, that any staff, teachers, or students were involved in this matter or were in danger in any way," CBS Boston reports.
The home of Stephen Doran was searched where officials found more paraphernalia including: 38 additional grams of the suspected meth, a scale, approximately $10,000 in cash and other drug distribution items.
He was arrested following the traffic stop and was charged with second count of methamphetamine trafficking in the district, as well as violating the state's drug laws in a school zone.
Media sources report, if Doran posts his $10,000 bail, he will be ordered to wear a GPS device and remain on home confinement except for medical appointments.
