Google Updates Drive App

Google has updated its Google Drive application for android users. Google claims the improvements will help create and access documents on-the-go even easier.

One of the improvements in the upgraded Drive app is document scanning. Users can now snap a picture of any document and the Drive will convert it into a PDF file and store. Google has also included the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, which means users will be able to search and retrieve any scanned document later.

Google has also changed the application's appearance. Its blog says:"Drive files will now be displayed in a clean, simple card-style." Users can swipe between files to see large previews, which helps to quickly review and discover what the user is searching. One can also download and save a copy of Drive files in their Android device using "download a copy" option from the actions menu inside settings.

The latest version of Drive also carries the "editing experience" in Google Sheets. Users can now adjust font types and sizes for their spreadsheets as well as change cell text colors and cell alignment right from the application.

The application also supports Google's Cloud Print support, which lets you print anything from Drive with a Cloud Ready printer.

Google Drive can be downloaded for free from Google Play store.
