Authorities in Hastings, Minnesota, are searching for a man who was seen on surveillance footage robbing a gas station while holding a knife and fleeing the scene on a bike.
Local television station WCCO reports that employees of the M&H gas station were confronted by a man holding a knife and demanding money from the store's cash registers. After making off with the store's money, he fled the scene on a BMX-style bike.
"Robberies such as this are somewhat rare because of the increased use of video surveillance systems, rapid police response, and emerging technologies," said Hastings Police Chief Paul Schnell. "We hope release of the surveillance will lead to identification of this suspect whose actions were clearly threatening and reckless."
No one was reported injured in the robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, over 5 foot 1 with short black hair and was wearing a black long-sleeved top with emblems on the chest, left upper arm and back along with wearing a pair of sunglasses, a hat, gloves, and a white bandana that covered his face.
Authorities have asked anyone with information about the possible identity or whereabouts of the suspect to notify them.
