rue21 Inc. (RUE) announced Thursday morning that it agreed to be acquired by funds advised by Apax Partners for $42.00 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately $1.1 billion.
rue21 gapped open dramatically higher Thursday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. The stock finished with a gain of 7.84 at $41.96 on the highest volume of the year. rue21 leaped to a new high for the year.
