Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) announced after the bell Thursday that A.G. Lafley is returning to the company and will take over as chairman, president and chief executive officer. Lafley will succeed Robert McDonald, who will retire on June 30.
Procter & Gamble gapped open sharply higher Friday, but was range-bound throughout the session. The stock ended the day with a gain of 3.18 at $81.88 on strong volume. P&G closed challenging the highs of the year, trading at a 1-month high.
