Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF) reported a first quarter net loss of $0.09 per share Friday morning, compared to the loss of $0.25 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for a loss of $0.05. The company expects to report second quarter EPS of $0.28 to $0.33 and between $3.15 and $3.25 for the full year. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.31 and $3.49.
Abercrombie & Fitch gapped open sharply lower Friday and fell in early trade, before settling into a range. Shares finished down by 4.35 at $50.02, with volume at a 3-month high. The stock fell to a 2 1/2 week low.
