Producer prices in Slovakia decreased for the second successive month in April, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Tuesday.
The producer price index decreased 0.5 percent on an annual basis in April, after falling 0.7 percent in March. In February, prices had increased by 0.3 percent.
Producer prices in the mining and quarrying industry rose 2.1 percent from a year earlier, and manufacturing prices moved up 0.7 percent. The price index for electricity, gas, steam and air-condition supply was higher by 0.9 percent than a year earlier.
Overall output prices of goods meant for the export market dropped 0.2 percent annually during the month, while domestic market prices increased by 0.9 percent.
On a monthly basis, the producer price index edged up 0.1 percent in April, after staying flat in the previous month, the agency said.
