Vanda Pharma Submits NDA For Circadian Regulator Tasimelteon In Totally Blind

Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (VNDA), a biopharmaceutical company focused on products for treatment of central nervous system disorders, Friday said that it submitted a New Drug Application or NDA to the FDA for tasimelteon, a circadian regulator. The company is seeking the approval of FDA for Tasimelteon for the treatment of Non-24-Hour Disorder (Non-24) in the totally blind.

Non-24 is a serious and rare, circadian rhythm disorder that affects the majority of totally blind individuals who lack light perception and who therefore cannot entrain their master body clock to the 24-hour day.
