Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (KKD) Set A New High After Q1 Beat & Raised Forecast

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (KKD) reported first quarter adjusted EPS of $0.20 after the close Thursday, up from $0.14 last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.17. The company also lifted its full-year 2014 adjusted EPS forecast to between $0.59 and $0.63, from prior expectations of $0.53 to $0.57. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $0.58.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts gapped open higher Friday and climbed in early trade. The stock advanced further in the early portion of the afternoon and finished with a gain of 3.06 at $17.32 on the highest volume of the year. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts broke out to a new high for the year.
