BASF (BFA.L, BASFY.PK) announced the company is implementing its global "We create chemistry" strategy in Asia Pacific. BASF's Asia Pacific strategy "grow smartly" outlines investments of 10 billion euros, around 9,000 new jobs, annual savings of 1 billion euros, and aims sales of 25 billion euros in the region by 2020.
BASF said around 25% of its global R&D will be conducted in Asia Pacific by 2020. BASF plans to reach a total of around 3,500 R&D personnel in the region by 2020, up from around 800 in 2012.
