A Florida couple faces child neglect charges after their 4-year-old son shot himself in the hand with a gun found in the couch.
The boy was taken to a hospital after he shot himself with a handgun wedged in between the furniture piece. CFNews13.com reports he had his left ring finger removed as a result of the injury.
The child told deputies he knew the gun was in the couch when he saw his father Donald Greeson, a felon, put it there the night before the incident.
When investigators searched the couple's home, they found pills and other drug paraphernalia including a bong pipe and digital scale. Greeson admitted to smoking marijuana, using meth, and taking the pills found.
Greeson was charged child neglect, unsafe storage of storage of a firearm and other drug and firearm charges. His wife Tracy was charged with child neglect.
Child-protection officials said the boy will be taken of by a foster parent while he recovers.
