Poland's inflation slowed to 0.5 percent in May from 0.8 percent in April, the Central Statistical Office reported Thursday. The rate was forecast to remain at 0.8 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.1 percent, confounding expectations for 0.1 percent rise.
Cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages gained 1.6 percent annually, and dwelling cost rose 1.1 percent. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear cost fell 4.8 percent and transportation costs slipped by 4.2 percent.
