Delaware Man Sues Urologist Over Eight-Month Erection

Daniel Metzgar, a Newark, New Jersey truck driver, is suing his urologist after the doc allegedly inserted into him a penile implant which left him with an eight month long erection, reports DelawareOnline.com.

Lawyers for the defense, Dr. Thomas J. Desperito, have argued however that the procedure is not guaranteed against adverse results, adding that it is Metzgar's fault for waiting so long to address the problem.

After the surgery, Metzger says his scrotum swelled to the size of a volleyball, while his persistent erection left him unable to do everyday tasks:

"I could hardly dance with an erection poking my partner," Metzger told MedicalDaily.com. "It's not something you want to bring out at parties and show to friends."

Eventually, Metzger got the prosthesis removed, although the two surgeries have left him with a loss of sensation in the relevant area.
