At Least 10 Killed In Karachi Violence

At least ten people were killed and four others injured in multiple shooting incidents of violence in Karachi, Pakistan's biggest city and commercial capital. Among those killed included a member of the Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan militant outfit.

In a separate incident, Sher Alam alias Shera, who is suspected to be a regional vice commander of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan was killed in a shootout in Manghopir. Sher Alam was an accused in several terrorism cases.

In a firing incident close to the Murtaza Chowrangi in Landhi area, two persons were gunned down while four other were injured.

Among others killed in Karachi was bank employee in the Brigade police station area, who shot by unidentified men on a motorcycle. Another person was also shot dead by unknown persons on a motorcycle in the Baghdadi police station area.

Authorities said two MQM activists were killed by unidentified gunmen near the Saeedabad and Gulshan-e-Maymar localities of Karachi in separate incidents.

Elsewhere in Karachi, a small explosion went-off in the Boat Basin area in which no casualties were reported. Police said the blast was of low-intensity, set-off by an improvised explosive device, late Saturday night. The blast occurred near the Zulfiqarabad Authority Project offices and is believed to have been targeted at Chinese engineers on a project in Boat Basin.
