Danish Producer Prices Drop Modestly In May

Denmark's producer price index for domestic supply decreased moderately in May, data released by Statistics Denmark showed Monday.

The producer price index for domestic supply edged down 0.1 percent year-on-year in May. The index was influenced by a 1.1 percent decrease in prices of imported goods and 1.6 percent rise in prices of Danish products.

The statistical office, meanwhile, noted that domestic supply prices have increased 23.9 percent since 2005, owing mainly to higher costs of means of production, which consists of raw materials, fuels and machinery.

On a monthly basis, the producer price index dropped a seasonally adjusted 0.1 percent in May, with both domestic prices and import prices falling 0.1 percent each.
