Siemens Ltd. said it had secured an order for Rs.66 crore from National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) for the renovation and modernization of its Korba Stage-II (3 x 500 MW) plant in Chhattisgarh.
Under the contract terms, Siemens will replace the existing system with the state-of-the-art, fourth-generation distributed control system - SPAA-T3000 (Siemens Power and Process Automation) for the entire plant, including its boiler and turbine control systems.
The SPPA-T3000 process control system combines the reliability of proven, real-time process controllers with new technologies to establish a simple and robust platform. The system is designed to provide real-time date - at the right place, at the right time - to give power plant owners and operators the information they need to make right decision,s thus proving their ability to be competitive.
AT the BSE, Siemens shares are currently trading at Rs.553, up 0.63 percent from the previous close.
